Blackford County Schools is not only committed to your child’s education but also to their safety and well-being. With September being Suicide Prevention Month, BCS would like to make sure our parents are aware of the Student Assistance Program through the Bowen Center. BCS has formed a partnership with the Bowen Center in which all BCS students have access to two prepaid counseling sessions. If your child requires more than the two free sessions, the Bowen Center will either work with your insurance or have a reduced fee for self-pay. Counseling sessions can be in person or virtual.
If you would like more information about the Student Assistance Program, please contact your student’s counselor or social worker. You are also welcome to call the Bowen Center at 800-342-5652 to schedule a confidential appointment.
If you or someone you know is feeling suicidal contact the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 800-273-TALK or call 911.
