At Monday's HOSA Blood Drive at BJSHS, there were 78 amazing donors who came out and attempted to donate! Thanks to the generosity of students and staff, Versiti was able to collect 64 units of blood, which amounts to 192 lives saved!
The Versiti blood drive coordinator sent this to HOSA Sponsor Yvette Rouch: 'Thank you so so much for helping us save lives yesterday. The enthusiasm and dedication your students have is contagious. It made my week to know just how many lives would potentially be saved. You never know when blood will be needed and it is why having a ready blood supply is so vital to our community. Transfusion of blood and blood products helps save millions of lives every year. It can help patients suffering from life-threatening conditions live longer and with higher quality of life, and supports complex medical and surgical procedures. It also has an essential, life-saving role in maternal and child care and during man-made and natural disasters.'
Thank you for donating, Bruins! You really are making all the difference in the world!
